"And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart." Galatians 6:9
A few years ago, our son told me he needed to water his seed he planted. I didn't give it much attention until my husband realized he was actually growing a pumpkin vine in the yard! He had brought home a pumpkin seed from preschool and planted it. We transplanted it into a pot and brought it inside. We would hear him talking to it and watering it faithfully. It was the sweetest thing watching him watch his plant grow!
We know the Word says we reap what we sow, but sometimes we don't take it seriously when it comes to the words of our mouth. If we are praying for something, we should water that prayer with faith and thank God for the blessing of knowing He is working things out for His glory. If all we are speaking is negative about the current status, it is like pouring herbicide on our seed and immature plants! We want to water it, fertilize it, and believe in faith it will grow! Talk to that seed and bless it in Jesus Name!
On the flip side of this we can unintentionally grow things we don't want. If we let a lie get planted in our heart and the difficulty of life waters that seed, then we will reap the harvest of that lie. Have you believed that you are not lovable, that He isn't answering, or that there is no hope? Dig that seed up or pull that weed out! It's a lie! God loves you, He hears you, and there is hope!
I pray today that we all ask the Lord to show us how to be good gardeners! He makes things beautiful in His time! Some things take longer than others. May we not give up hope or dig up that seed with doubt. Let's praise Him as we wait for the harvest!
God bless you sweet friend!
