"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!" 1 John 3:1
I walk into church recently and my little friend had a crown on. I loved how confident she was! There was no room for anyone else's opinions, and there was no doubt in her mind that the crown belonged on her head. This is how we should be as children of God!
We should be so confident in our adoption as a Kingdom child that our circumstances or surroundings never determine how loved or accepted we feel. We shouldn't be surprised when our prayers are answered or shocked when His blessings and favor are poured into our lives. We should trust Him that He hears and sees us and have confidence in who we are. The enemy so often tempts us to believe we are alone, that we aren't loved, that we aren't clothed in righteousness, but the truth is those are all lies. He does love us, He will never leave us or forsake us, and by His shed blood we can exchange our filth for His righteousness.
This Thanksgiving may we not only be intentional to spend time with family and enjoy their company, may we also be intentional to celebrate and be thankful for our adoption as a child of God!
I pray that no matter what your circumstances and plans are this Thanksgiving that you are surrounded by God's peace and filled with joy in knowing who you are! I pray that God pour out His blessings on you, your home, and your family. I am thankful for you and that I can call you my family in Christ! God bless you!
