"Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from Him. Truly He is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken." Psalm 62:1-2

Recently my mind was swirling with all the things...to do list, wish list, goals, family activities, who to meet with, and just wanting to rest in His presence. I was on the back porch with my notepad working on a few things, and I was in the shade so with the wind it was a little chilly. I was going to go inside to take a break and nap, but my husband suggested I lay in the chair in the sun. I don't remember a more amazing nap! The warmth of His light was everything I needed in that little break.
So often we can become so overwhelmed by all that is going on around us that we forget to rest. Let's not forget it's not a suggestion, it is a commandment. God knows we need it. Our body needs it, and our soul needs it.
Schedule it in. Take care of yourself. Let's sacrifice time for Him. He gave His life for us. I know your to do list is pressing, and life's demands are real. His love for us is real too, and He longs to speak to us in those quiet, restful moments. Your rest may not look like a nap on the porch, but He has a special rest for you as well. He is a God that provides all that we need.
This isn't a devotional full of great revelation...just a reminder to rest and recharge. Praying you take time to take a deep breath, breathe in some fresh air, let the wind blow in your face, let the sun shine on your skin, or maybe get your feet dirty and remember you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
Talk to God and pause to hear what He has to say to you...it will be just what you need!
Love you my friends!
