HIS GOODNESS

"Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in Him."

[Psalm 34:8]

The holidays are around the corner and so most likely our taste buds will be overloaded with goodness!

When London was little I was trying to explain to her that candy was not good for her tummy, and she very confidently responded,

“Well, it’s good for my mouth!"

Good point my child, good point!

The Bible says to “taste and see that the Lord is good”. In the Old Testament the prophets Jeremiah and Ezekiel ate the scroll and said it was a joy and sweet.

Jesus said we should “not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” His Word is our spiritual food and is an absolute necessity to our spiritual health. We cannot expect to eat junk and be sedentary and expect to be healthy. On the same note,

We cannot expect to grow and enjoy God’s goodness without reading His Word.

It is a love letter to us!

This love letter does include warning and truth, but it is a beautiful story of a heavenly Father that loves us so much He sent His son to save us. How can that not be sweet to our tastebuds?

My dear friend showed me that honey and half and half make the best coffee…I jokingly say it’s healthy because it’s biblical like the promise land! The promise land was a land said to be flowing with milk and honey.

Do you have a personal “Egypt” that you are dealing with?

Know that as you ask Him to lead you out of it, He is good and you can trust that He is leading you to your land flowing with milk and honey. Remember, it’s in the tough journey that we get to know His goodness!

The Bible makes a few references to honey from a rock. Jesus is our Rock, He was the Word made flesh and praise Him we have access to His Word….let’s get some honey from The Rock and taste and see that He is GOOOOD!
