"And He said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.' Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me." 2 Corinthians 12:9
Surrender happens when we reach our point of weakness. When we realize we truly have nothing left to give, no control, and nothing to bring to the table, we are in the right place to receive His grace. Weakness pushes us to surrender. Grace is when we get something we don't deserve or receive undeserved favor. It can't be earned. We don't deserve for Him to rescue, redeem, or restore us. His love for us is why He gives us this undeserved grace.
This past summer the guys in our family cleaned out a dried up tank on my grandmother's land. They worked so hard to get it ready before the rain came. I do not understand how a hole that big can fill up that fast, but it does! As I walked by it I couldn't help but think of how God gives us so much more grace than we deserve. He can do in a matter of hours what we could never do. He sees our efforts, but we must know that every good and perfect gift is from above. He just loves us and isn't at all turned off by our weaknesses or inadequacies. He is good and kind and pours out on us and fills us just because He loves us!
Maybe we should be like Paul and boast in our weaknesses so we can see the power of God rest on us! Grace, grace and more grace!
Father I ask for more of Your grace for my weaknesses, grace for my mistakes, and grace to receive Your power! We love You Father and we are THANKFUL this week for Your love and grace! Amen
