Going to a children’s church camp as an adult sponsor will change you. Not only do you realize how old you are and how much you need sleep and coffee, but you also realize how beautiful children are.
Watching them worship and hearing them share what God has put on their heart is the most precious gift. Just when you think they aren’t listening they tell you about the warriors they learned about the day before, or they grab the mic and courageously tell the whole group about how we can find help in the stories of the Bible.
They dance like it’s their last day, they yell the countdown, and they sing loud. I can’t imagine where Jesus would even sit because every kid would want to sit by Him!
Jesus said we need childlike faith, but we also need to love Him like kids do. We not only need to have faith that He is who He says He is and that He keeps His promises, we also need to desire to spend time in His presence just like children. Children are so kind to invite us into their adventures with their imagination. Let’s invite the LORD into our adventure this week just like a little child would! We are His children, and He wants to spend time with us. I pray you feel His presence this week and know that He would choose to sit by you because He loves you!
