Hope

"For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience." Romans 8:24-25

The last week of the calendar year can bring about many different emotions for people.  Some feel relieved that they survived, some have new hope that the new year will bring good things, some are numb as they are in the middle of a battle where the calendar doesn’t matter, and maybe some are anxious about challenges ahead.

It is important for us to be careful what we are speaking over our life, and what we are speaking over others.  When Mary went to see Elizabeth, she was walking in faith, but most likely overwhelmed by what was ahead.  Elizabeth spoke such beautiful words of favor over Mary.   Sometimes we need an Elizabeth in our life, or we need to be one for someone else!   There are times that we need someone that can see the blessing and favor deep inside of us and can speak it over us even if we cannot see it.

As we wrap up this year let’s ask the Lord what He sees.  Let’s ask Him what He wants for us this next year.  It doesn’t matter what is going on around us, we must cling to what He said.  He has plans and a purpose for a future and hope.  I challenge you to get your journal and sit with the Lord.  Don’t write down burdens and requests.  Ask the Lord to pour out of you His promises and plans and write that down!  Let’s decree and declare goodness walking into 2024.  May we have the anointing of Elizabeth as we see what the Lord has done BEFORE it happens and celebrate in advance!

Father, thank You for another day where we can worship You, be a light and have hope for tomorrow.  We love You!
