"How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!..."
[Psalm 36:7]
Brennon Manning wrote, “I could more easily contain Niagara Falls in a tea cup than I can comprehend the wild, uncontainable love of God.”
In a month where we are bombarded with red wrapped candy, oversize cards and stuffed animals I think it’s perfect time for us to celebrate who loves us MOST!
So many times we put conditions on God’s love for us. We think that we don’t measure up, that we shouldn’t have done this and should’ve done that. There are consequences to choices, BUT the truth is:
His love is unconditional.
That means that whatever is on our rap sheet does not shake His love for us and nothing we accomplish can make Him love us more. He IS love. If you follow the life of Jesus and His encounter with people His love is what changed them.
Can you imagine being the woman caught in adultery and being drug into the temple to be stoned? The shame and embarrassment she must have felt. Then this man who was assumed to be the deciding judge ended up being gentle and compassionate. He wrote in the dirt and one by one the accusers walked away.
I picture her looking up and locking eyes with a Savior that loved her and saw the beauty deep inside. I believe in the moment she made eye contact with Him she felt loved. I feel confident when He said, “Go and sin no more” that sin wasn’t a problem for her anymore because she found the love that her heart had longed for.
So many times we try and fill the void in our life with things that will never fill it. As it is said, there is a “God shaped hole” in our heart.
I pray today that you lock eyes with the Savior!
Whatever it is that makes you feel like you don’t measure up or what you need to do to earn His precious love, leave that in the dirt and just look at Him.
He loves you sweet friend, He loves you.
