God's Garden

“So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase.”

1 Corinthians 3:6-7

Bluebonnets are breathtaking when they come out in spring, and I love that in Texas people sometimes take a drive just to go see the patches in different areas. I smile when I hear people say, “Have you seen the bluebonnets?” Maybe what that means is, “Have you seen the new season spring forth?”

My great aunt was a stunning woman much like the bluebonnet, and she was beautiful in all seasons of her life. These blue wildflowers were in full bloom when she went Home to be with Jesus. At her funeral, my dad talked about how she faithfully taught and served in the church and how the seeds she planted were much like the seeds of bluebonnets that keep spreading.

What seeds has God called you to plant? Or maybe someone planted seeds that you are meant to water. God has a purpose for you and in every season He has made you beautiful because you are made in His image.

Don’t let the enemy lie to you that your purpose is insignificant. We are the body, and ALL members are important.

If in this season you are a mother, then plant seeds in your children. If you are to visit the elderly, then water the seeds that someone planted years ago. If you are to work, then plant seeds of hope and love as you work like He is your boss. If in this season you are to rest, then let Him grow in you all the seeds that have been planted and watered by others.

We must not compare our growth, nor our bloom, with someone else. God created you to be you!

Let the love that He has for you spread into the lives of all those around you!

Lord, help us to be a part of Your garden, wherever we are!
