Do Not Forget

"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2 Peter 3:8

I was complimenting my mom recently on how she never forgets any obligations. She remembers her own and also reminds me of mine sometimes. She is a lifeline in my circus, and I am not quite sure what I would do if I didn't have her telling me to not forget things!

When I read this scripture today, "do not forget" jumped out for the first time. Peter stressed the importance of not forgetting the promise that Jesus is coming back for us. We are to be steadfast and know that He is not "slack concerning His promise". God is patient and wants all to come to repentance.

It is so easy to get caught up in our own life. The chaos, the goals, the grief, the fun and the busyness can distract us from our whole purpose. Our purpose is to journey with the Lord! This year we have had so much rain that even in central Texas it really has felt like spring! We know summer is coming though...we have felt the heat already a few days. Then, in a few months the stores will start to put out pumpkins and we will begin to have hope for cooler days. Seasons change. We don't know exactly what each season will look like, but we know they shift and change. Some are hot, some are refreshing and some we have to prepare for. Seasons in our life are the same way. The Lord remains the same in all seasons! He is good and He loves us and will keep His promises.

I just want to tell you, (and myself), today to not forget that God's timing is not our timing, but He is faithful. He will provide for you, He will carry you through, He will bring to pass the things He has promised, and He will continue to love you more than you ever can understand. His plan may not make sense, but His ways are not our ways. It is all for His glory. Jesus loves you my friend, and that is enough. You are loved...do not forget.

I love this Cheyenne! It had me asking myself a few questions...

Who do I want to be in this season?

And maybe more importantly...

Who do I not want to be in this season?

And lastly...

What is God showing me in this season of my life?
