"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
[John 16:33]
I recently went to a conference where we were told that the average American lives 78 years and to circle dots on a page according to our age. I am 40 so I circled 40 dots…just over half.
The point was to place urgency on living out our dreams and visions God has given us. Not that all will go Home at that age obviously, but it did offer a perspective I had not experienced!
We are not guaranteed tomorrow, but we can most definitely live today.
I have a beautiful sister in Christ, Susie Davis, that teaches that we should love the one life we are given and take time to enjoy it!
I love this reminder, especially those of us that are in our busy years. We must slow down and smell the roses! Enjoy some of His creation and goodness, including the beautiful people in our lives.
Our one life includes hard seasons also.
If you are in a season of grief... please know that our Father sees your heart and he sees your tears and He loves you with an everlasting love.
If you are in a season of physical trials... know that He knows your body better than you do, He formed even your inward parts and His grace is sufficient through this season.
If you are in a season of bliss... know that our Father is so happy to see your joy bubbling over in His blessings and goodness.
Whatever season you are in never, ever doubt His love for you.
Also know that in Him we have an unending hope…we have hope in His answer to our prayers, hope in His glory being revealed in our circumstances and hope in our heavenly Home in glory.
As Billy Graham once said, “My home is in heaven. I’m just passing through this world.”
God, help us remember this is world is temporary…our real Home is with You!
