"...if we ask anything according to his will, He hears us."
[1 John 5:14]
Last vacation we were headed to Colorado which is about a 14 hour drive and Rayce suggests we get a hotel after we had been on the road about 45 minutes. It was hilarious, but also concerned us for how long of a drive was ahead!
Sometimes I wonder if this is how the Lord feels about us on our journey with unanswered prayers.
“Are we there yet?”
We have prayed and He has heard us and He has us on the pathway to receive just what we have asked for, but we get panicked because we can’t physically see the destination yet.
We trust the GPS map to get us where we are going on a physical road, so why can’t we trust an Almighty Father that loves us, to bless us and get us where He is taking us?
Let’s enjoy the trip, roll our window down, snap a picture, take a nap or appreciate the scenery.
We can trust Him to get us where we are supposed to be.
In Habakkuk it tells us to write the vision down and make it plain.
I firmly believe this is important.
If He has given you a desire or a vision, write it down! He likely won’t show you every detail of how you will arrive there, but you will. It may take a bit, but it says “though it tarries, wait for it”.
The road trip is sometimes tiring and hard, but the destination is all worth it!
Father, show us what Your desire is for us so that we may write it down and start our journey! Help us to be faithful while we wait. We trust that you are preparing us for the destination as we ride in the back seat on our adventure.
Amen.
